Melbourne Law Firm:
Litigation & Advisory

Joyces Coleman Percival is a Melbourne-based partnership formed in 2012. We are a proudly LGBTQI+ friendly workspace, strive to include people with disabilities in our Pro Bono practices and worker engagements, and support the Uluṟu Statement from the Heart.

We take great pride in our support for the UNICEF Australia GoodWILL Project.

By taking time in our work to acknowledge and wherever possible assist the marginalised members of the community, we strive to venerate the legacy of two influential and esteemed women: Joyce Percival and Joyce Coleman.

Joyce Percival: 10/4/1923 - 14/4/2015

A charming and tenacious lady who defied all convention in championing unpopular causes in a difficult but thoroughly well-lived life. Chief among her many virtues was a lifelong dedication to gay-rights activism and fundraising efforts for UNICEF and various African-centric charitable causes. Her ideals of equality and empowerment guide our practice.

Joyce Coleman: 12/5/1928 - 03/4/2010

An inspiring and fiercely intelligent lady, known as a generous benefactor to many causes within the Glen Eira community. In addition to her generosity, she was an advocate for and supportive of the Jewish diaspora which arrived in the East St Kilda community following WW2. Her ideals of inclusion, of caring for people regardless of their race, religion, beliefs or sexual orientation guide our legal practice.

Joyces Coleman Percival acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the Traditional Custodians of the land and acknowledges and pays respect to their Elders, past and present. Joyces Coleman Percival is committed to safe and inclusive work places, policies and services for people of LGBTIQ communities and their families
